The problem
What landlords usually say
And why it doesn't have to stop you.
"We require 2 years of employment history"
Most landlords ask for 2 years at the same employer. Settl shows what you earn TODAY from your bank. Not what you earned last year.
"We need your last 3 pay stubs"
You might only have 1 or 2. Settl bypasses all of that. We verify income directly from bank deposits. No pay stubs accepted or required.
"We need proof of income history"
Your bank account shows your real financial situation right now. A few months of solid direct deposits tells landlords more than any document.
Offer letters are not enough
Many landlords won't accept offer letters as proof of income. Settl goes past the letter. We see the actual deposits hit your account.
Settl answers all of those objections. At once.
Your bank shows your income right now. Not 2 years ago
Direct deposits prove income better than any pay stub
No employment duration required. We verify current earnings

Questions from newly employed renters
I started my job 6 weeks ago. Can Settl verify my income?
Yes. Even a few direct deposits is enough for Settl to detect your income level and verify that you're earning. We look at current deposits, not a multi-year employment history.
My landlord requires 2+ years at the same employer. Can Settl help?
Settl gives landlords a bank-verified income confirmation that often satisfies their requirements better than an employment duration check. Show them verified income from your bank, that's harder to dispute than a 2-year rule.
I'm switching from a lower-paying job to a higher-paying one. My old income won't qualify but my new one will.
Settl detects your most recent income patterns. If you've received 2–3 deposits at your new income level, we'll pick that up and verify your current earning capacity.
What if I'm in a probationary period?
Probationary period doesn't affect Settl verification. We verify income from bank deposits, not employment status. If you're getting paid, we can verify it.
I have a job offer but haven't started yet. Can I get verified?
Not yet. Settl verifies actual deposits, not future income. Once you've received your first 1–2 paychecks, you can complete verification. Many applicants start the form now and add bank verification after their first paycheck.
Got the job. Get the apartment.
Verify your income from the bank that just received your first paycheck.
